I have had an interest in ancient history and mythology since my childhood. The tales and accomplishments of the ancient Greeks, -Romans, and other bronze- and iron age civilizations and cultures have always been something I have found not only interesting, but also as a means to understand and even predict modernity and the modern world we – for all the good and bad – live in.
Besides my deep interest in history, I have also always loved the sea, and received my BASc from the Estonian Maritime Academy in 2011.
Having continued indulging myself in everything ancient, I started self-learning classical Latin during the age of the virus, and in 2024 began my BA studies (classical studies and classical philology) at Tartu University.
I will use this blog to write and post about any and all topics about ancient history I find interesting, and feel proficient enough to write and have an opinion about. I will focus on maritime aspects of history, but also ancient Greece and -Rome in general, and the ancient Mediterranean world in whole. Expect a post twice a month, maybe more, maybe less.
I hope you find this blog interesting and educational.
